VOIP - A Must Have For Business Profitability and Success

Published by robert under Uncategorized

Rule # 1: Don’t Waste Your Money …

One of the things I learned early on in my home business journey was that you can not afford to waste money. Money can be spent on so many different and useful tools, information, etc. Being the guy from Australia, I quickly learned that many of my business partners were based in the United States or other places overseas. Now, to use our normal telephone provider would mean very expensive calls at long distant rates. That would equate to hundreds , if not thousands of dollars spent in training calls, conferences, and relationship building calls.

I learned of Skype early on also. I used them for a short period too. The huge problem with Skype is that their service in Australia for Computer to phone is extremely bad. I was constantly repeating myself and I guess the professional look that I wanted to portray flew right out the window! Cheap calls, Extremely bad reception. Note: this is probably the result for people in Australia. Skype users in Europe most probably get great reception. Computer to computer calls - Skype is perfect.

VOIP and what is it all about …

One of my mentors told me about VOIP. Voip is basically the ability to make calls using broadband Internet. You can plug in a soft phone, which is like a microphone with headset (but its shaped like a phone), and plug it straight into your USB port on your home computer. This enables you to make calls from your computer, when your computer is on. You can also receive calls from your computer.

I experimented with this technology and was glad I did. I was spending about 10 cents on unlimited calls all over Australia and many countries overseas (USA, NZ, UK, Europe). However, I wanted better. I wanted to be able to receive calls and make calls with my computer turned off. Wow, was I asking for the moon here? I wanted all of this and possibly a rate even cheaper than the 10 cents I was paying per call and 22 cents per mobile phone call/minute.

Technology is an amazing thing. Keeping up to date with it is even better.

I discovered many voip deals on the market in Australia. Many were advertising plans. An example of this is where the company may charge you a monthly fee of $20 or $25 to use their voip phone service. Beware! There is definitely no need to pay for a service provider with voip. In my experience you should not pay a monthly fee unless it is extremely low and you get some crazy bonuses. Otherwise - it’s a trap in order to get your money. Remember, you want to save money in order to spend it on worth while business productivity.

Like all things - Research is Key

I done my due diligence on whirlpool.net.au and discovered that there were prepay voip services. You pay only for the calls you make. That sounded like what I wanted! Actually there were pages of voip providers. I also realized that I would need different appliances in order to use voip without my computer on. Hmm, it was going to be a bit of a mess ….

…until I found out that there are modems where all you need to do is plug in your phone and Internet connection - and that’s it! No messy, mucking around with wires and other devices. A simple voip modem which enabled the use of voip. So, I chose a Voip service provider which charges me 8cents for unlimited calls across Australia, USA, Europe, UK, NZ, and heaps of other countries. Mobiles are at 12 cents per minute and 50 FREE SMS messages which I can send from my computer!

The quality is great and I am saving a truck load of money each month. I love it so much that I no longer use our ‘normal’ telephone exchange provider for the calls I make. I just rent the phone line and make all of my phone calls via Voip.

Conferencing with Voip? You better believe it!

Voip is essential for business success if you intend to make overseas calls and do so regularly. It is also much cheaper than local calls - so it benefits you in that area too. I checked out the USA, and their voip services are even cheaper than Australia’s. There are literally hundreds of voip providers out there. Many have also adapted voip into their conferences. You see, phone conferencing is slowly dying out. Other services which ask you to dial a number on your phone for audio conferencing and then go to your Internet to view the conference - is STUPID!

Why am I so harsh here? Simple, many overseas business owners are sick and tired of not feeling like part of the team. Many have to dial an international number at international rates (…not if you have voip…). What a pain!

What I see happening in the NOW and future are conference calls on the Internet utilizing voip. That way local and international clients or business customers can just type in a URL and assist on the call - FREE of Charge. Many companies have this service at ridiculously high prices. However they know that it is the wave of the future. Think of how better your MLM team or your Network Marketing Team would function if you could have a world wide training call where your business partners and prospects didn’t have to pay a cent to attend! Where you could share files, have a whiteboard to demonstrate key concepts, web cam so the team could build rapport… the benefits are endless.

Remember - voip is the NOW for your business. I haven’t promoted any company here as this is only for your information, not for me to profit from you. Hopefully this information will enable you to being your journey in putting your business where it needs to be. Let me know when it does : )

Pioneers of Hypnosis

Published by robert under Uncategorized

Just as chemistry arose from alchemy, astronomy from astrology, so hypnotism had its origin in mesmerism. Phenomena such as Mesmer described had undoubtedly been observed from early times, but to his work, which extended from 1756 to his death, in 1815, we owe the scientific interest which, after much error and self-deception, finally led to what we now term hypnotism.

John Elliotson (1791-1868), the foremost physician of his day, was the leader of the mesmeric movement in England. In 1837, after seeing Dupotet’s work, he commenced to experiment at University College Hospital, and continued, with remarkable success, until ordered to desist by the council of the college. Elliotson felt the insult keenly, indignantly resigned his appointments, and never afterwards entered the hospital he had done so much to establish. Despite the persistent and virulent attacks of the medical press, he continued his mesmeric researches up to the time of his death, sacrificing friends, income and reputation to his beliefs.

The fame of mesmerism spread to India, where, in 1845, James Esdaile (1808-1859), a surgeon in the East India Company, determined to investigate the subject. He was in charge of the Native Hospital at Hooghly, and successfully mesmerised a convict before a painful operation. Encouraged by this, he persevered, and, at the end of a year, reported 120 painless operations to the government. Investigations were instituted, and Esdaile was placed in charge of a hospital at Calcutta, for the express purpose of mesmeric practice; he continued to occupy similar posts until he left India in 1851. He recorded 261 painless capital operations and many thousand minor ones, and reduced the mortality for the removal of the enormous tumours of elephantiasis from 50 to 5 per cent.

According to Elliotson and Esdaile, the phenomena of mesmerism were entirely physical in origin. They were supposed to be due to the action of a vital curative fluid, or peculiar physical force, which, under certain circumstances, could be transmitted from one human being to another. This was usually termed the “od,” or “odylic,” force; various inanimate objects, such as metals, crystals and magnets, were supposed to possess it, and to be capable of inducing and terminating the mesmeric state, or of exciting or arresting its phenomena.

The name of James Braid (1795-1860) is familiar to all students of hypnotism. Braid was a Scottish surgeon, practising in Manchester, where he had already gained a high reputation as a skilful surgeon, when, in 1841, he first began to investigate mesmerism. He successfully demonstrated that the phenomena were entirely subjective. He published “Neurypnology, or the Rationale of Nervous Sleep,” in 1843, and invented the terminology we now use. This was followed by other more or less important works, of which I have been able to trace forty-one, but all have been long out of print.

During the eighteen years Braid devoted to the study of hypnotism, his views underwent many changes and modifications. In his first theory, he explained hypnosis from a physical standpoint; in the second, he considered it to be a condition of involuntary monoideism and concentration, while his third theory differed from both. He recognised that reason and volition were unimpaired, and that the attention could be simultaneously directed to more points than one. The condition, therefore, was not one of monoideism. He realised more and more that the state was a conscious one, and that the losses of memory which followed on waking could always be restored in subsequent hypnoses. Finally, he described as “double consciousness” the condition he had first termed “hypnotic,” then “monoideistic.”

Braid maintained an active interest in hypnotism up to his death, and, indeed, three days before it, sent his last MS. to Dr. Azam, of Bordeaux, “as a mark of esteem and regard.” Sympathetic notices appeared in the press after his death, all of which bore warm testimony to his professional character. Although hypnotic work practically ceased in England at Braid’s death, the torch he had lighted passed into France.

In 1860, Dr. A.A. Liebeault (1823-1900) began to study hypnotism seriously, and four years later gave up general practice, settled in Nancy, and practised hypnotism gratuitously among the poor. For twenty years his labours were unrecognised, then Bernheim (one of whose patients Liebeault had cured) came to see him, and soon became a zealous pupil. The fame of the Nancy school spread, Liebeault’s name became known throughout the world, and doctors flocked to study the new therapeutic method.

While Liebeault’s work may justly be regarded as a continuation of Braid’s, there exists little difference between the theories of Charcot and the Salpetriere school and those of the later mesmerists.

Is Ten Minutes A Day Worth It For A “New You”?

Published by robert under Uncategorized

That’s All You Need, With An Isometrics Exercise Program

You don’t need to spend an hour or two in a gym every day - or even a few times a week — to have an effective exercise program. Doing focused isometric exercises for just ten minutes a day, at home, will lead you safely and quickly to your goal.

There are some “gym bunnies” out there who wouldn’t miss their daily or thrice-weekly gym sessions for anything. But that kind of compulsive dedication to sweating, straining, aching and struggling toward the goal of a “perfect body” isn’t at all necessary. So why do they do it? No clue - unless it’s simple obsessiveness and self-absorption.

The reality is that if you want to feel healthier, lose weight and inches, become more flexible and agile and have plenty of vigorous energy, you don’t need to invest more than ten short minutes a day - in the comfort and privacy of your own home - to achieve the results you seek.

Furthermore, if you have physical limitations, most of the exercises can be done while sitting in a chair. Even those designed for standing or lying on the floor can be adapted for a sitting position.

The beauty of isometric exercise is how beautifully and effectively it works, without stressing your body to the max (or at all, for that matter) … without aching from stretched, sore muscles … without allocating huge chunks of time spent struggling on machines that resemble medieval instruments of torture in a sweaty gym, being watched and judged by others.

All it takes to get started on a successful program of isometrics is to get an instructional DVD, slide it into your player, and devote a mere ten minutes a day to doing the exercises - at home, dressed however you feel like dressing, at whatever hour of the day or night you choose. No one will be judging your “performance,” and there are no unreasonable or difficult standards to meet.

Isometrics has another benefit, as well, and that is improved breathing. You can practice the breathing exercises you’ll find on your DVD at any time throughout the day. They take just a few seconds, and are simple, non-intrusive and non-stressful - you can even do them as you prepare to answer a telephone, and no one will even realize that’s what you’re doing! Within just a few days you’ll be amazed by how greatly improved breathing increases your energy level and overall sense of well-being - at the same time you begin to notice your body improving in ways that bring a smile to your face.

Think about how long ten minutes actually is. About the time it takes for a quick shower, or to brew a pot of coffee. And even with that minimal investment of time, within a matter of a week or so you’ll start to feel - and see - the kind of results you’ve longed for but had begun to believe weren’t possible. They are possible - and quickly, too.

If you are willing to spend ten minutes a day doing the easy, relaxing exercises you’ll find on an isometrics DVD, you’ll be rewarded with a slimmer, trimmer, healthier body than you’d ever thought possible.

Bone Cancer - Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment and Prognosis

Published by robert under Uncategorized

Bone cancer is rare and accounts for less than 1% of all new tumors. Not all bone tumors are fatal in fact benign (non cancerous) abnormalities are more common than malignant ones. Most bone cancers are secondary and have been spread from another site. Primary bone cancer which starts in the bone is quite rare constituting less than one per cent of all malignant tumors. They are more common in males, especially in children and adolescents. The most common type of primary bone cancer is osteosarcoma. This type of carcinoma usually affects young adults. It can affect any bone, but the arms, legs and pelvis are more commonly affected. Other less common forms of primary bone cancer include Ewing sarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma and chondrosarcoma.

Primary Bone Cancer
The causes of primary bone tumours are not known; however, adults who have Pagets disease (a bone disease) may have an increased risk.

Secondary bone cancer
Secondary bone cancer is the most common bone cancer. It is a carcinoma that starts somewhere else in the body and spreads (metastasises) to the bone. The most common cancers that spread to the bone originate in the breast, prostate, lung, kidney and thyroid.

Reticulum cell sarcoma of the bone
A cancerous tumor of the bone marrow presenting in more males than females.

Leukaemia
Cancer of the blood, which starts in the bone marrow

Symptoms of bore cancer
Symptoms tend to develop slowly and depend on the type, location, and size of the tumor. The signs and symptoms of bone cancer include: painful bones and joints, swelling of bones and joints, problems with movement, susceptibility to fractures. Less common symptoms include: unexplained weight loss, tiredness, fever and sweating.

Remember bone cancer is very rare so if you have any of these symptoms it is likely to be caused by another condition. Always see your doctor if you have for a diagnosis.

Causes
Although bone cancer does not have a clearly defined cause, researchers have identified several factors that increase the likelihood of developing these tumors. A small number of bone cancers are due to heredity.

Diagnosis
Bone cancer can present itself in any of the bones of the body, but it is diagnosed most often in the long bones of the arms and legs.

Diagnosing bone cancer involves a number of tests, including: X-rays and bone scans to show the exact location and size of the cancer (these are always done prior to biopsy), bone biopsy where a small sample of the cancer is removed from the bone and examined in the laboratory for the presence of malignant cells, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan similar to a CT scan but uses magnetism instead of x-rays to build three-dimensional pictures of your body.

Treatment
The treatment and prognosis of bone cancer depend upon multiple factors including the type and extent of the cancer, the patient’s age and overall health status. Tumors may be treated with surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these.

Primary bone cancers:
The tumor, surrounding bone tissue and nearby lymph nodes are surgically removed. In severe cases, the affected limb may need to be amputated, but this is rare. Treatment may also include radiotherapy (x-rays to target and kill the cancer cells) and chemotherapy (anti-cancer drugs). These may be given before surgery, to shrink the cancer and/or afterward to destroy any remaining cancer cells.

Secondary bone cancer:
Treatment depends on the treatment for the original tumor, but usually includes chemotherapy, radiotherapy or hormone therapy. Surgery may be needed to strengthen the affected bone.

Prognosis
Overall, the chance of recovery (prognosis) for bone cancers has improved significantly since the development of modern chemotherapy. The chance of recovery will depend on a variety of influences; if the cancer has spread, the type of bone cancer, the size of the tumour, location, the person’s general health and other individual factors.

If the tumor is very small and localized, the five-year survival rate is close to 90 percent. If the cancer has begun to spread, however, survival becomes more difficult. The five-year survival rate is only about 60 percent, and the prognosis is poor once the cancer spreads.

Bone cancer in cats and dogs
Bone carcinoma in dogs and cats can be a challenging disorder. Osteosarcoma is by far the most common bone tumour if dogs, usually striking the leg bones of larger breeds. Chemotherapy significantly prolongs the survival of animals with osteosarcoma when used in conjunction with surgery. For dogs Cisplatin alone or in combination with doxorubicin markedly improves survival time to a median of 8-10 months with the percentage of dogs alive after11 months at 50%.

Feline Osteosarcoma unlike its canine counterpart it has a much lower rate of metastasis and longer term survival can be expected with complete excision. Median survival for cats with osteosarcoma is approximately 2 years with many cats outreaching that.

How to Measure Your Level of Core Desire

Published by robert under Uncategorized

Why do so many people quit the business of network/internet marketing and never achieve true freedom and wealth?

On the surface this may seem like a very simple question that could be answered by a few of the typical/obvious answers:

* They quit

* They didn’t plug in

* They didn’t participate

Whatever… What you want to ask yourself, or maybe even know about yourself, is why…why didn’t they follow through, while others do? When I finally learned the answer to this question last week listening to a CD in my MLM university (aka, my truck), it was quite sobering.

Not only did the reason behind their results come into the open, but the reason for my recent spat of success became apparent as well. So what’s the answer?

Why do most people fail when a select few succeed? Drum roll please…Those who do succeed have a core desire to do so. Those who don’t share that same core level of desire will not.

“Desire… Ya Mike I’ve already heard that 100 times from my upline: Just look for people with desire and you’ll do great… yada yada yada… Everyone I talk to has the desire to make more money. It hasn’t made any difference so far.”

And you’re right. The difference is in their level of desire.

The only time anything ever gets done in your life is when you follow it through to completion with a sense of urgency - when your desire to accomplish that task is at a core level of 100 on a scale of 100.

You must accomplish it. It’s a part of you. It consumes you. It dominates your thoughts above and beyond anything else each day and all day.

These are core desires, and the people who achieve notable success in network marketing, have that accomplishment as a core desire. That core desire brings them freedom and wealth.

They are the ones you see on stage and hear on the training calls. That’s it. That’s the secret.

If attaining your goal means paying off your credit cards, buying a house, saving for retirement, or firing your boss, then you are lacking core desire, you are not attached to your networking business enough, and you will not succeed. Period.

The sad truth, is that most people in the network/internet marketing industry did not buy a business, they bought hope. And hope is never backed by true desire.

Hope is for the undecided. A career in network marketing (i.e. a boss free life), has been a core desire of mine for the last 7 years.

I’ve moved across the country because of it. I’ve taken certain jobs because of it. I’ve dated or not dated because of it. I spent money on training instead of furniture because of it.

The desire to never work for anyone else again has been a dominating force in my life, and it’s the reason I didn’t quit after the first 6 years of hell. It’s the reason I continued to pour every spare cent I ever made into my business.

It’s the reason I pawned a $3,000 bike I won two state championships on to buy advertising - and came up empty.

Yet I kept going forward without doubt because I have this core desire at a level of 100 to succeed in networking.

And this means my success was 100% guaranteed. It was no longer a matter of IF, but WHEN.

So that’s why people you sponsor quit. Don’t get frustrated. 80% of people who join you will never sponsor more than 1 rep or customer.

Most people simple don’t have the desire at a level of 100 to accomplish their goals through their new business. They just bought hope in order to quiet that little voice inside them that keeps nagging them to make a change.

Once they buy the networking business, and they don’t make $1,000 in 5 days, they can then justify their fear of change with the “logic” that it just “didn’t work,” and that they knew it was a scam to begin with… This is especially true with opportunity seekers, which is why I don’t waste my money on these types of people and why you shouldn’t either.

Ha. So sad, yet so true. People are funny aren’t they? So my question to you is… What is your desire level to achieve your goal through network marketing?

Is it at 50? (like most people) Is it at 80? (not enough) Is it at 90? (not enough)

Or is it at 100? (The only number that will produce results). You should be able to tell pretty quickly.

What do you do each day to build your business? How many books on the industry do you own? How many conference calls are you on each week? How many people do you talk to about your business/product each day?

What would you be willing to give and sacrifice to succeed? I hope the answer to that questions is “whatever it takes,” because I can promise you the end result is worth the sacrifice. So how can you tell if your prospect is going to succeed or fail from the very first phone call?

Easy…Ask them this question: “So which books are you currently reading on self-development and marketing?” Anyone who is truly serious about being a successful entrepreneur will be able to name at least one book they are reading right now.

My suggestion is that you change your mindset today and get involved. Take responsibility for your personal success and set aside the excuses that have kept you in that JOB for so many years.

Start increasing your value to the world by increasing your knowledge and abilities. Only then will the world be willing to pay you back with freedom and wealth.

Early Menopause Linked to Smoking

Published by robert under Uncategorized

Women who smoke are likely to undergo menopause at a younger age than nonsmokers, according to the findings of two studies involving more than 3,500 middle-aged women in seven countries.

In fact, the studies showed, the more a woman smokes, the earlier her menopause is likely to occur. The average age for menopause in women who have quit smoking was found to fall between that of light smokers (half a pack a day) and that of women who never smoked.

Most women in developed countries stop menstruating between the ages of 44 and 54, with the average age around 50. In one of the studies, the researchers found that at ages 48 to 49, a woman who smokes a pack or more a day is nearly twice as likely to be past menopause as a woman who never smoked. At ages 50 to 51, 79 per cent of the women who smoked a pack or more a day were past menopause, as against 56 per cent of those who never smoked.

This “striking association” between smoking and the onset of menopause was accidentally discovered as part of a continuing international research project, the Boston Collaborative Drug Surveillance Program. The researchers, Dr. Hershel Jick and Jane Porter of Boston University School of Medicine and Dr. Alan S. Morrison of the Harvard School of Public Health, said they noticed the relationship while exploring the link between smoking and heart disease.

A closer look at the data suggested to the researchers that smoking might actually precipitate earlier menopause. At each age, the women in the studies who were smokers were more likely to be past menopause than those who had never smoked and the heavy smokers were more likely to be past menopause than the light smokers. The association between smoking and earlier menopause was similar in all the countries involved. The researchers said they could discern no other factors to account for the finding.

Writing in the British medical journal The Lancet, the researchers suggested two possible mechanisms for the link between smoking and menopause. One is the effect of nicotine on the central nervous system, possibly resulting in changes in the secretion of hormones involved in the menopause. The second is the effect of cigarette smoke on certain enzymes that may in turn influence the way the body handles the sex hormones.

The researchers said the effect of smoking on the onset of menopause might account for the association previously found between menopause and heart disease. Women post menopause have been shown to have a higher rate of coronary heart disease than premenopausal women of the same age. But since smoking is known to increase a person’s chance of developing heart disease and has now been shown to accelerate the onset of menopause, smoking rather than menopause itself may be the real explanation for the heart disease statistics, the Boston researchers suggested.

Each of the 3,534 women who participated in the two studies was interviewed by a specially trained nurse, as to her personal habits, menopausal status and past medical and medication history, as well as such demographic characteristics as age, marital status and number of children.

The women were part of two much larger studies involving a total of 57,000 patients treated at 24 hospitals in Boston and at hospitals elsewhere in the US and six other countries. The smoking-menopause analysis excluded all women who had had their ovaries removed surgically and whose menopausal status or smoking status was uncertain at the time of the interview.

Wendy is a menopause support consultant whose practice is designed to educate and empower people to make a positive impact in their long-term health and wellness. Ultimately, her education, coupled with her expertise in health, has inspired her to coach individuals in wellness education programs.
